A look at the new iBook :

The case is hard plastic and the feel of the iBook is very sturdy. It is a bit thicker than the Titanium and the hinged screen design limits placing the screen flat for cleaning. The nub on the power adapter jack is missing, probably due to a potential conflict with the CD drawer. There is no button on the CD/CDR/DVD door, one must hold down the eject key on the keyboard to pop open the door. All the ports are separated well and all iBooks come with a proprietary video to VGA connector to allow for screen mirroring. The sleep light is located to the left of the open latch and is visible only when the unit is asleep. The keyboard is the same width as the Titanium and flips up to allow placement of an AirPort card and RAM, however some keys have been reassigned (also see Apple TIL 88132). The microphone is located in the upper right pane of the screen. When we attempted to record a new sound, we received a tremendous amount of white noise is the background. Hot plugging an iSub and iSticks worked flawlessly. The logic board contains either 64 or 128 MB of RAM and there is a 1.25 inch slot that can contain up to a 512 MB chip.
